You CAN teach an old bag new tricks

I have just spent 5 days in bed due to a nasty flu, attempting to drink lots of fluids - subsequently this meant I ran out of juice quickly, leaving me with nothing but plain ol’ water.
I was in a panicked state, faced with a full day in a flavourless existence. So I got creative, had a good rummage in my cupboards (which sounds dirty but I assure you it was not intended that way) and ta-daa!
I have now found my new favourite drink - perfect for summers and BBQs, big groups or just a frequent fridge addition.
All you need is some sugar, water, lemon juice and fruity herbal teas - yes those ones that have been in your cupboard for over a year that you don’t use. Raspberry or any kind of berry ones work best, for mine I used Twinings Raspberry & Echinacea.
This recipe is for an approximately 2litre jug.
4 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
100ml lemon juice (just buy lemon juice, life is too short to squeeze a million lemons)
2-3 teabags of your choosing
Add all to jug & fill with boiling water (I would tie the teabags to the jugs handle to avoid them falling in, or if the string is not long enough, tie them to a knife or chopstick and balance on the top of the jug)
Leave to cool & then chill in the fridge overnight, or for a few hours. Add ice (or even better, blend with ice to make a slushy) and a mint garnish or anything else it might need - rum for example - and you are good to go!!
