Lucy likes food, but hates cleaning.

If you have made it this far you have probably seen a few of my pictures on various lucysfoodinyourface platforms, so thanks for looking into my work a little further!
As you may have noticed, I love food. Everything I make isn't for the instagram, it's for me - I just take pictures of it. The problem is after creating some delicious meals (if I say so myself) I'm left with a sink full of dishes because we don't have room for a dishwasher. Me and my significant other used to have an agreement that if I cooked he would clean, but after yet another discussion/knife fight regarding the mouldy plates spawning life in the kitchen I decided that this was clearly not going to work. So pushing the resentment down deep into my soul, where it will fester and act out in an unhealthy way, I chose to simply start keeping the mess to a minimal and doing it myself.
All the recipes I post will keep your kitchen clean up to a minimal, and take into account the reality that we don't all have our dream kitchens and infinite space, here's a couple of things that have helped me so far when trying to keep my kitchen in order!
1. Slow Cooker. Can't stress this one enough - Clean up level minimal, it takes up a little counter space but it is worth it.
2. Skillet. Just got one, and I love it. Great for 1 pan dishes - try and get a decent sized one if you don't already have one. If you are strapped for cash its a great thing to add to birthday/christmas wish lists!
3. a decent set of pots and pans. They are an investment and a time saving tool! If you have a decent set of pans then food doesn't stick to the bottom as easily and you can clean a pot quickly while cooking, or re-use more than once for the same recipe without having to scrub away keeping your washing up to a minimal.
4. ORGANISATION. If everything has it's place you make less mess and cooking is less stressful.
So that's the first blog post to lucysfoodinyourface - Happy cooking!
